Ubisoft's titles are full of grinding, and do an excellent job at rewarding this grind and making the feedback loop addictive and satisfying. The word we often use to describe this is 'grind' which, I have to say, is a bit of an odd word to describe gaming. You can make a game very addictive and hard to put down and still not make it all that unique, memorable or fun. I've written in the past about my concerns with game publishers 'gamifying' actual games, and there's no better example of this than Ubisoft. So you 'gamify' lesson plans and award points and leveling up to students, for instance. Ubification is a play on 'gamification' which is a concept geared toward making non-gaming activities fun and/or addicting to increase productivity and results.
